UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) sightings have been reported globally throughout recorded history from as early as 1801. This has raised questions about life on other planets and whether extraterrestrials have visited Earth. For many people, laymen and professional astronomers, this is a subject of avid speculative interest.

A highly lucrative new science fiction genre developed of novels, movies and televsion series about intergalactical space travel and intelligent alien lifeforms. These stories, in many parts of the world, have become part of popular culture.

Space For Extraterrestrial Adventures

 It is a great theme for Art Directors and Copywriters to explore for inspirational ideas. As the following examples demonstrate, anything imaginable can become an entertaining extraterrestrial parody or story.

1. Hyundai Santa Fe, Power Dynanics Redefined

Advertising Agency: Innocean Worldwide, India

Directed by Juan Jaramillo, this commercial has a surprising and rewarding conclusion for viewers. The story is centered on dramatising the performance features of the Santa Fe and its impressive engine power which is claimed to be the highest in the crossover SUV segment.

2. VW Tiguan, Technologically Advanced

Advertising Agency: DDB, Sydney, Australia

This visually engaging and clever parody of Space-Age technology’ that eventually ends up in Space, was directed by Tom Noakes.

3. Levi’s 501, True Love

Advertising Agency: AboveGrey Pictures, U.S.A.

Multi-award winning screen artist and writer Ezra J. Stanley and cinematographer Alejandro Wilkins, wrote and directed this commercial for Levi’s. It received many industry accolades and a Best Commercial Award from the Burbank International Film Festival.

4. Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Granola, Aliens

Advertising Agency: Leo Burnett, London

Directed by David Loge, aspects of the ‘Alien’ movie genre are parodied to great effect and amusement.

5. Central Beheer Achmea, Alien Invasion

Agency: DDB Native, Amsterdam

This commercial is part of the highly successful advertising campaign series ‘Just Call Us’ for Insurance company Centraal Beheer Achmea headquarted in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. Directed by Les Stylewar, this parody is a visual delight with a very funny twist at the end.

6. Mentos Gum, Turncoat

Advertising Agency: BBH (Bartle Bogle Hegarty), London

This well crafted, highly amusing parody of an Intergalactic Trooper who switches sides, was directed by Andy McLeod.
